The Lulo fruit plant – officially named the Naranjilla – is native to South America. The Naranjilla plant is a bush that takes around 10-12 months to produce fruit.
The Lulo fruit essentially looks like an orange on the outside, but like an unusual tomato on the inside. Its flavour may be described as a combination of kiwi, citrus, and pineapple, but some people compare it to lime and rhubarb. This is because the flavour can vary depending on where it’s grown.
