The Tomatillo plant is also known as the Mexican husk tomato. So, you can probably guess, this plant originated in Mexico! The plant produces small, green, spherical Tomatillo fruits that look very similar to a tomato.
Tomatillo fruit is similar in flavour to tomatoes, but has a slightly more acidic, slightly less sweet flavour. The texture inside is also denser and less watery than tomatoes.
